BAGEMASS is an open source Fortran code developed by Maxted, Serenelli & Southworth (2015). The code calculates the posterior probability distribution for the mass, the age, and the metallicity of a star from its observed parameters (mean density, effective temperature, luminosity, surface metallicity) using a Markov-chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) approach. The code is open source and freely available (see Maxted et al. (2015) paper for details).
BAGEMASS requires as input a grid of stellar evolutionary tracks sufficiently dense in the relevant parameter space, provided as a .fits format file. To facilitate the use of the YaPSI tracks in conjunction with this code, we provide BAGEMASS-compatible input files based on our tracks. Each YaPSI bundle of tracks is identified according to its helium content Y.
