SMARTS Optical/IR Observations
of LAT Monitored Blazars

This program will use ~700 hours per year on three of the telescopes operated by the Small and Moderate Aperture Research Telescope System (SMARTS) at Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory (CTIO) in Chile to observe all public Large Area Telescope (LAT) monitored blazars that are accessible from Chile. The data generated will be used to study the relationship between the emission peak in optical/IR bandpasses and the public Fermi gamma-ray emission. Data and results from the SMARTS telescopes will be made public on a timescale comparable to that of the LAT data on these sources on this webpage.

NOTE: After the end of Cycle 1, we no longer have funding from the Fermi mission. However, we continue to obtain observations of these blazars on a near-daily basis. If you are interested in viewing our data, please contact the team at glast@panlists.yale.edu.
