Observatory Directions

How do you get to the student observatory?
Before you do anything else, look at this map!

The easiest way to get to the observatory (if you are a student) is to catch the bus in front of Silliman or Becton. If the bus driver doesn't know where the observatory is, ask him to let you off at the corner of Prospect and Hillside, and follow the walking directions from there.

Walking Directions:

Walk up Prospect as if you were going to Science Hill. Walk past the Science Hill buildings, and continue up Prospect through the set of lights at the intersection with Edwards St. As soon as you cross Edwards, Farnam Memorial Garden will be on your right. The observatory is in the garden, but you can't see it because it's over the top of the hill. Continue walking up Prospect, past the next set of lights marking the intersection with Hillside, until you get to the far end of Farnam Garden. On the far side of the chain link fence marking the end of the garden is a driveway with a blue light at the end. ***This driveway is the first paved right you can take after the intersection between Prospect and Edwards.*** Turn right up the driveway and follow it over the top of the hill. You can't miss the observatory. Look for the large, shiny domes, and the friendly people waiting to show you the wonders of the universe.
