.) DO NOT GUIDE!! Just go to the coordinates.
.) When you get to the coordinates, set the bias rate (on the TCS computer, under the "rates" menu at the bottom). The rate will be provided to you in the nightly program.
.) Before the observations of this target begin, turn on the bias. This is done from the same menu that turns the tracking and guiding on and off.
.) Once the bias is on, take the observations in the order given in the program. The stars in the images should be streaks, almost straight up and down approximately 100 pixels long. IF the stars don't look like this, please try again - in particular, if the stars do not look like a single line, we need to do it again. The asteroid should look like a point source, and should be near the usual zero point position. Please let us know in the observing report if you can see the asteroid.
.) TURN OFF THE BIAS in the motion window on the TCS (you do not need to reset the rate).
.) Then go on to the next target.
