  • Yale  University will be managing the operation of the SMARTS 1.3m and the 1.5m in queue scheduled service mode only.  Contact Victoria Misenti for more information or to purchase time at the rate of $200 per executed hour.

The instruments available in 13A for SMARTS are:

  • 1.3m:  ANDICAM (service mode)
  • 1.5m:  Chiron (high-res) only (service mode).   Note that RCSpec will be unavailable as it will be taken off the telescope for commissioning of SIMON (an IR spectrograph).  SIMON will be available in the future, but for 13A only Chiron is available to the user community.

Please also note that, for the SMARTS 1.3m and the 1.5m, nights will be 8 hours each in 13A.  The 0.9m nights will be in traditional user mode (only).
