Charles Bailyn appointed the A. Bartlett Giamatti Professor
Charles D. Bailyn, the newly named A. Bartlett Giamatti Professor of Astronomy, is an expert on black holes.
His research in high-energy astrophysics and galactic astronomy focuses on observations of stellar mass black holes and globular star clusters and stellar collisions. He has delivered public lectures on the topic "How To See a Black Hole" to many audiences, including school groups, Yale alumni events and amateur astronomical societies...
