Welcome
The La Silla QUEST KBO Survey
The La Silla-QUEST KBO survey is searching the southern skies for the largest and brightest members of the Kuiper belt, using the QUEST camera and the 1.0-m Schmidt telescope of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) at La Silla, Chile. Started in 2009, the surveys aims to search the entire southern sky for the brightest Kuiper belt obejcts (KBOs), in particular the dwarf planets closer than about 100 AU. "We hope to complete the search for the brightest KBOs, including the remaining bright dwarf planets still awaiting discovery.
