I am a postdoctoral associate in the Astronomy department. My research interests is in the star formation and galaxy evolution of nearby galaxies. The Local Universe provides the ideal laboratory to study the processes of star formation in detail. In particular, I am interested in the fundamental processes of star formation such as (i) how the observed neutral Hydrogen content relates to the star formation properties; and (ii) whether the initial stellar mass distribution which forms have any dependencies on the initial conditions of star formation. Moving to a bigger picture, I am interested in how galaxies evolve from being star-forming galaxies to passively-evolving galaxies so while I'm here at Yale, I am working mainly with Jeff Kenney and the VIVA collaboration on the effects of the cluster environment on the star formation and evolution of individual galaxies within the Virgo Cluster. To obtain a complete picture of the processes taking place within galaxies, I perform and analyse multiwavelength observations (radio/HI, optical, infrared and ultraviolet). I received my PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
