Date: Sat, 20 Jul 2002 14:31:10 EDT From: DWoodwell1@aol.com Subject: softball results Hello everybody, At 5:45 on Thursday afternoon a caravan of burly, uniformed Physical Plant folks pulled up to the field, and we knew it was going to be a tough battle that night. Although things never got too out-of-hand, FIS was trounced by a score of 27-6. The loss means that FIS misses the playoffs by one win, and finishes the summer with a 3 and 4 record. The evening had its highlights, though. Dipankar's fielding made it worth the trip out there in-and-of-itself. Kevin and Dan ended their summers on a positive note, both contributing home runs. And hats off to our disabled list cheering section -- Ashlee and Barbara -- for coming out and lending their support even though they couldn't play. We have the opportunity to play a consulation game (against Vintage Leather) if we choose. We're scheduled to play on Thursday, although it's clearly an optional endeavor. E-MAIL ME by Monday night if you'd like to (and are able to) play this Thursday. If I have enough responses by Monday evening, I'll let the other team know we're interested. Either way, I'll e-mail everybody on Tuesday and let everyone know if the game's on. Doug
