Hey everyone, I'll keep this brief. We just had the captains meeting this evening. The first day of the softball season will be SUNDAY, April 7th. We will start off with a double-header that day. In the meantime, I'd like to (ideally) have two practices -- one for newcomers and one for the whole team. So, first things first. If you are new to the game....or are just feeling like you could really use some brush up on some basic skills and rules...let me know if you'd like to attend a newcomers practice AND WHEN THE BEST DAY for you would be. Schedule-wise, the best day for this is Saturday. Since I'm sure many of you would be out of town then, however, if you can attend sometime Mon-Wed afternoon, let me know. I would like to have a full team practice for those interested on Thursday or Friday next week. I will send the full schedule in a separate e-mail for those who want to print it out or otherwise hang on to it. This year we will be playing six (!) games in the regular season. If we are in the top 4 out of 7 teams after that, we will play in the playoffs as well. So...newcomers, let me know if you can come out and when. Anyone else, let me know if you have any comments or questions (and if anyone finds new recruits, they are naturally always welcome). Doug
