Subject: softball -- old friends

Hello my old friends!

Softball will be starting in the beginning of April.  I hope to see all
of you who were there in the fall back again (I mean, let's be honest,
the weather's MUCH nicer in the spring, right?)

I decided to sign us up for the co-rec league -- so women will be
particularly key this season.  Ideally, we will have at least four women
show up for every game.  Contrary to what some might think -- WE WILL NOT
FORFEIT if this does not occur.  We simply have to take some automatic
'outs' as pass through the batting order -- and play a bit short-handed
on the field.  This was the overwhelming consensus of people who've
responded to me, and my opinion as well.  If it can be done, we should
play in the co-rec league (and if it doesn't work out as well as I hope,
we'll switch back in the summer).  

I think it's pretty do-able that we'll have four women show up for most
games.  We had three women for most games last season.  In the meantime,
I've found one women who wants to play regularly, and at least one more
who can play sometimes.
Hopefully, everyone can keep their eyes open for similarly interested
women that they know (or similarly interested men --
the-more-the-merrier!)

In the meantime, please respond and let me know that you're interested
this spring as well.  I won't delete the old names from the e-mail list
this time, but if you respond, I'll have a better idea of what to expect.
 Include: who you are, phone number, and how often you think you can
come.

No hurry on this...just let me know in the coming weeks.
