First, the bad news. Proving again the value of every single person on the team, we forfeit because we were one player short (thank you to Greg, Colleen, Eric, Cochi, Terry, and History Jeff for coming out). So we had to settle for a loss and a scrimmage. The good news... We forfeit against what is probably (in my opinion) the best team in the league. Even better, during the scrimmage we held our own, losing by a mere run (6-5). Our hitting was pretty decent, and the defense was very solid. This was basically the team that spanked us 51-4 over the summer, so everyone should be proud of themselves for hanging tough. Our team is 2-1 now, which, I think, means we're still tied for first. So...the details for next week are as follows: The upcoming game is the last game of the regular season before the playoffs. We will be playing the "God Squad" -- the team for, you guessed it, the Divinity School. Game time is at 1:45. That's different than any other games we've had, so take note. The game is still on Sunday. The field is SB1 -- which means the nice varsity field we played on the first week with the dugouts and bleachers. Please try to get there a half hour early, if possible. We can practice some on the grassy area next to the field. My phone number is still 624-9553 - in case anyone has questions about weather or rides. LEAVE A MESSAGE if I don't pick up, in case I'm in the shower, the ringer's not on, etc. I'll send a reminder off later in the week about the game. Until then, Doug
