Timely arrivals on Sunday were followed by timely hits and solid defensive play as the Polisci/Astronomy softball team, Frogs in Space, won in one of the most thrilling games in years. The game-time arrival of Don Green kept the team from forfeiting, while the belated arrival of several other team members filled out the roster and kept a full squad on-the-field. Every player counted as Frogs-in-Space traded leads repeatedly with SOMers. The main highlight of the early part of the game was a three run homer by Terry, but mostly the team simply and methodically pounded out one single after another. The team play was evident on the field as well, with six innings of practically flawless defense. Things got real interesting in the bottom of the last inning, as the team struggled to overcome a one run deficit. With two outs and the game on the line, Jeff M. came through in the clutch, and singled in Brent. Terry finished off the game on the next at bat with the go-ahead, game-winning single. The 8-7 win puts the team in a tie for first place in the league. ----------------------------------------------- Let's have a practice on Thursday. Anyone who's interested and available, show up at 5:30 at the top of the hill, and we'll find some place to practice (sure there'll be lots of space). Game time next week is Sunday at 12:30. We will be playing the Med school's team "Jake's Snakes". The following two games are also on Sundays at 12:30. If anyone needs a ride to practices or games and doesn't live in, say, Brooklyn, feel free to give me a call. My number is 624-9553. Terry's got a web site with the schedule ya'll should check out. Unfortunately, I forgot to bookmark the thing on my computer, and I forget the address. TERRY, would you mind sending the folks on this list a quick e-mail with the website address on it? That's all I can think of for now...hope to see everyone Thursday, and definitely next Sunday. Doug
