I spoke enough of that in Switzerland. :) Well, we had two tough games this weekend and came away with a couple losses, 11-7 to the law school team and 13-6 to the biologists. We scrimmaged with historians and some random collection of Swedish tall people or something in between games. We had some hope of beating the biologists, as they were holding a barbecue in between their two games, but unfortunately they didn't bring enough beer for us to win. The afternoon was not without its highlights, however. Brett Marston has apparently hit the weight room, as after years of being a consistent singles and doubles hitter, he sent many an outfielder running backwards this past Sunday with a homer and two very long triples. Terry also popped a deep home run in the first game. Our defense was not up to par in this performance, however. The only notable defensive play came in the second game, where Cochi did her best Dominic Hasek impersonation and made a kick save on a line drive up the middle, then picked up the ball and tossed it to first for the out. In Romper Room style, I also saw Mark, and Katie, and Chuck, and Brad, and Belen, and Don. I'm pretty sure everyone reached base at least once or twice. We have a long time before our next game, which is May 7 at 12:15. I'll send another reminder before then. Since we'll have a two week layoff, please let me know if you're interested in a practice of some sort on April 30. If there's enough people up for it, I'll send out another message before then.
