An intensive introduction to extragalactic astronomy. The structure and evolution of galaxies, quasars and supermassive nuclear black holes, observational cosmology, and the history of the universe.


This course is an astrophysics course, meaning that physics and mathematics are used.
Prerequisites: a strong background in high-school math and physics.
