The main disk for the webserver died Friday night. I spent most of Saturday rebuilding the OS on a new drive. I managed to copy the webpage files but did not have time to copy over the home directories.

Due to a power glitch on sunday, several computers, including the webserver crashed. I reset it monday afternoon and our website has been online since.

I am copying the home directories today, this will take several hours. I expect to finish tomorrow.

It looks like our webserver crashed (second time this week) yesterday evening. Not 100% sure the reasons. We will keep everyone updated if there are any further problems.

One of the machines used for remote of observing had a hardware failure today. Until this machine is replaced, remote observing will be hampered.

I expect to replace wiyn1 within a few weeks.

I am going to reboot the email server at 1:45pm today. We need to clear up some email delivery issues.

During the reboot time you will not be able to access your astro email.

I have updated the department webpage with some instructions for playing audio cds from linux:

roc is back online.

I suggest that you reboot your workstation when you have the time. This will clear out any "stale" network connections to other machines.
