Binary Maker

Here we will start to learn how to use Binary Maker to make artificial data for various binary systems to see how they change when we vary certain binary parameters.

Install and Starting Binary Maker

Go to the top of page 3 of the Binary Maker manual for instructions on installing Binary Maker.

(following is incase we don't have manuals to give to students)

In Windows go to My Computer and double click on the C:\ drive icon. Create a new folder called "binmak2". Put the floppy disk into the drive. Copy the contents of the floppy disk into the binmak2 folder.

If you want to copy the floppy contents via the DOS prompt, first open a DOS window by either double-clicking on the MS-DOS icon on the desktop or by choosing "command prompt" under the Start>Programs>Accessories menu. At the DOS prompt type:

cd c:\

copy a:*.*

Start up Binary Maker open a DOS window and at the prompt type:

cd c:\binmak2

menu
