Working Group on the Densification of the Optical Frame Newsletter 2 March 10, 2006 Dear Colleagues, It has been too long since my last newsletter and for that I send my apologies. Since the last newsletter, our group, which used to be under the ICRS working group under Division I, has moved as a working group under Commission 8. This move took place because the ICRS group was being disbanded and, when polled, no members objected. Therefore, organizationally we are currently located under Commission 8. The Commission 8 website is http://www.pha.jhu.edu/iau_comm8/comm8.html. There has been significant activity in the densification of the optical reference frame during this triennium. Several projects have come to completion, many are close, and new projects have been proposed. I have tried to compile the ones of most group interest on the project page of the working group's website, "http://ad.usno.navy.mil/dens_wg/". If there are projects that you feel the group would like to know about, please submit a brief summary to me and I will be happy to post it. The website has received a face-lift; I borrowed heavily from the Commission 8 site (thanks Imants). Feel free to send feedback. Sincerely, Sean E.
