I am a Graduate Student in Astronomy at Yale University. Currently, I am working with Priya Natarajan on my thesis, studying the coevolution of early proto-galaxies and black holes. I worked with Priya on my first year project modeling deprojections of galaxy clusters. I recently finished a project with Pieter van Dokkum studying the star formation histories of galaxies in the MUSYC fields. I recieved an Honorable Mention for the NSF Fellowship 2006-2007 year. The proposal was titled: "Cloud Fragmentation and Feedback of Population III Stars in the Early Universe".

I did my undergraduate studies in Physics-Astronomy at Brigham Young University, and received my BS in August of 2005. I graduated Magna Cum Laude, and with University Honors. My Honors Thesis was entitled: "A CCD Photometric Search for Variable Stars in the Open Cluster NGC 188". My advisor was Dr. Eric Hintz. I presented the findings at the 2005 AAS Meeting in San Diego.

I recently attended the 2006 SAAS-FEE Lecture Course, held in Les Diablerets, Switzerland. The topic was: "First Light in the Universe", with lectures by Abraham Loeb, Andrea Ferrara, and Richard Ellis. For photos of the trip, click here. For a link to the lecture notes, go here.

Family and Personal Life

For family photos and information, click here, or see our blog at, blogspot.

Lori and I have been to France, and we finally have photos up online for family to see. The "Captions.txt" contains the captions for the photos in order. I might get them more organized later, but for now, that will have to work. Here's the link

I enjoy reading, music -- classical piano, voice, and organ -- as well as camping and hiking, and doing anything else with Lori.
